Rebecca peril

Rebecca runs aimlessly in the dense, thick jungle, unwilling to glimpse her back of her pursuing enemy. She doesn't need to, for she already saw a hungry lion just before she ran for her dear life. Jumping over fallen logs and pushing through the undergrowth, Rebecca desperately tries to to outmaneuver and out wit her feline foe. The sounds of tropical birds and monkeys  chatter from above, mocking the human fool who trespasses their land. It wasn't suppose to be like this, it was an expedition to observe ancient ruins, not playing a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Rebecca's dominatrix draws near, eager to tear her limbs off and devour her flesh once it catches her. But just when she thought she can't go on, she heard a loud roar from behind. She quickly glance to see that her would be executioner caught a poor innocent bystander, a antelope. Its neck completely snap as the feline terror maws its broken body down to the ground. Wasting no time, she continues running, thanking god for giving her time to escape from being the lion's glorious dinner.

She ran as far as she could, until her legs starting to get a grow wiry during the pursuit. She stops to the closes tree and sits. Her chest heaves as she gulps fresh air. Rebecca unbuckles her tan pith helmet and wipes the sweat and dirt from her face. Her white blouse, tied above her sensitive midriff clings to her smooth skin due to the hazy environment. Rebecca pants were least comfortable, but manage to protect her legs from the razor leaves, and her hiking boots nullifies the dangerous rocks and rugged floor. She rests for a bit, fanning herself with her helmet and gets back up. The world around her appears so foreign to her as she looks to her surroundings.

"Well, its not safe just standing here, I need to keep moving." And so, Rebecca pushes through into the unknown, passing through the foliage and ducking vines and branches that hang low. Though beautiful, Rebecca couldn't admire the jungle with all its beautiful when it veils hungry beasts ready to pounce at her. Trending cautiously, Rebecca heavily relies on her senses as the pushes further until she heard a familiar noise.

"Is there a river near by!" spoken Rebecca, "if I find it maybe it may lead me back to camp!" Rebecca pushes harder and fights her way through the foliage of leaves and bushes. Small insects fill her nose, choking her a bit as she coughs and hacks them away. But regardless of little annoyances, she continues.

As she approaches nearer to the river, she heard a menacing growl from behind. That lion is still hungry?! Rebecca ran from the sounds of a beast towards the river. However it was the dry season and there were large flats of silt on the edges of the river. But She quickly turns around, unable to observe  the river more hearing the roaring beast from afar. Its too quite. She'll probably have to go swim across to escape the lion's see that the river can be crossed, and will perhaps prevent that beast from catching her sent.

Rebecca walks forward, feeling the dampness of her boots as she attempts to cross the river towards haven. Misjudging the distance to the river from the sound of the water further out, she passes through the bushes as until suddenly, she stopped! Her progress to salvation ended with a jerk as her legs plunge into the silt. Confused and afraid, she looks down as her boots disappeared into shifting liquid that materializes before her eyes. She pulled her right leg, then her leg, only to see herself descending into the now quicksilt.
"O my god! I'M SINKING!"

As the treacherous silt suckles Rebecca legs to her knees, She struggles to back out, but is only succeeding in making herself sink faster. She couldn't lift her feet above the silt, as though her ankles were shackled by the silty grip.
" I can't get stuck here! I need to get back to solid ground!" Rebecca thought, she turns around and tries to test the ground with her right hand. Feeling like playing a game of twister, she stretches back to get to solid ground. Instead, her hand break through the surface of the silt, and slowly sinking where it stood.
" Oh no!"

As she fights in vain against the silt she wonders if this will be her last expedition..........
